this last week we had interviews with pte. and each companionship was able to teach a question from the gathering of isreal. and our question was how does the gathering of isreal and the doctrine of christ conect. and i taught it with 3 nephi 10. i taught the same thing i gave my talk on a couple weeks before. something that president told me in my interveiw is that everytime he has seen me teach i have killed it. it is a gift that you have. ( he said maybe its somthing you learned from your dad or a talent you grew on the mission. but i think its the mentality that i learned from you dad. if your going to do something you are going to put all you effort and strength to do something the best that you can. all ways do things 100 percent and then perfect them.

somthing else that pte told me in my interveiw is that i am going to leave rivera next week. he doesnt know where but he knows that i am going. i love this area. i was able to get the area down very well and we had alot of success we went from 65 average in church to 100 average in church. we have cleaned the directory and activated 3 families. and a baptism and 2 with a date for baptism for the week after i leave. its going to be sad to go and my bishop doesnt want me to go. but it will be good to know where i am going this next week.

with the disactivation of our pte of the elders quorm we dont have one. and we dont have anyone else ready for it. so last week bishop called me as elders quorm pte. and my comp as fisrts councler.

so this coming week we will be with teenagers from the stake. we are doing a mini mission with them. and we will do it all the way untill sunday night. we will be with them for general conference for all 5 sessions. it will be a great opprotuntiy for them to have a spiritual experience.

we do not know yet who we will be with. we wont find out until tomorrow morning at 630 in the morning when we start our mtc. we will be teaching them all the things that they will need to know to teach.

as well elder staffieri was visiting all the zones before he goes home. he was with president for the last 2 weeks and they did interveiws in all the zones. but i was able to see him and say good bye to him. we got a foto with him and with president. its like the one that we got when i first started the mission a year and some ago.

this last week my comp was incharge of the area. in the 12 week training program the new missionary has to plan and teach all the lessons. it was an experience for him

but this week will be a good week preparing for the general conference and for elder oaks when he comes on april 21. lots of fasting preparing for the both.

this last week i was able to go on divisions 2 times. once within my district and once with the zone leaders. the one with the elders in my district was very interesting. i learned very quickly why they were struging with in there area. they had been seeing spirits in there house. and then they fixed the problem. but then they kept talking about it and teaching it to the members. well there bishop found out the very next day and it got to president and yeah they packed up there things and left the very next buss to montivideo. so just note to missionionaries all around the world. you are there to teach the restored gospel and the invite all to come to christ through faith repentance baptism holy gohst and enduring to the end. just stick that that. 

the other divisions went well. i am pretty gratefull for my ward. we have lunch everyday and really good lunch as well. the area i went to never has lunch. ....ever. so we made lunch to eat.

there was a baptism in our ward this last week. her name is stephania and she is 22 years old. and i gave the interview. it was a cool experience. because she had lied to the sisters before the interveiw about having a problem with question 4. and she told the sisters 5 minutes before the interview. and lucky for here she was able to confess it to me and to president that. she is now 100 percent clean and pure. in the interveiw she started out timid and then she changed to feeling the spirit. and in the interview she was amost begging to be baptized. it is a spiritual experience when people tell you they need to be baptized so they can be pure and clean of all there past sinns and so they can continue growing and strengthening themselves in there lives.

the next day she was baptized when she came out of the water she new she was clean and she felt the spirit very strong. she and the person that baptized her were both crying

so what is something that i got from all of that. if there is something you need to talk to the bishop about. ...DO IT. dont hold it in. whats the worst thats gonna happen. just go humbly and the lord wh bless you and take away all your sins and remember them no more.

about 3 weeeks ago there was an investagater of 35 years that out of the blue said she was going to get baptized. just like the one that you had in the ward at home. at the end of the year. it crept up like nothing the sisters didnt even know until the day before the baptism. well yesterday she died. it was a cool thing to watch. she had been waiting so long to get baptized. and then at her baptism she bore her testimony of how she knows that HOY ES EL DIA and that AHORA ES EL MOMENTO. (today is the day and now is the time) (they are two huge sayings that we have) and that she knew she needed to get baptized at that point. and that just 3 weeks later she pased away. it is a grand testimony that HOY es EL DIA. es EL momento también. dont stop work hard do everything you can do to save the people today and dont wait for tomorrow. you never know it might not come. repeant now. somone that comes to my mind now is WENDI PLANTIER and here family. go back to church if your not there. get you kyle and traves baptized if there not yet baptized. rey get baptized as well. i know you know it will bless your lives just like it has blessed the life of this lady here. and it has blessed mine.

this next week coming up. s not this week but next week we are going to have a mini mission here in rivera. so everyone will have a priest from the stake and they will be our comp for the week. so this will be a fun experience to help them out.

also for mutual this week we helped the young men make pancakes. they we made syrup with vinilla. bu we related everything to the gospel.

¡HOY ES EL DÌA!

we have been working really hard and sunday we were able to go on divisions with the ward and we worked 8 hours with them and as well as 4 lessions with investigators and 5 new investigators with members present. as well as 5 other less active visits.

we have been working really hard and the ward is responding and working hard as well. i love how weilling everyone is to work. to the point when they come to us and tell us there schedual for the week and when they can work. with the new way of working that we have there is no way to have good numbers if you are not working with the members. the members are the key.

we had some sad news the elders quorm president who is a recent convert of  a year and a half went inactive on us. he called the bishop and told him that there family was not going to go to church anymore. and he doent want anything more with it. this man knows so much doctirne and he was searching for more and more and more but lost the spirit and lost his conversion and his testimony. 

but good news is that silvia. facundos mom was thinking, why is my kid so happy. and she asked what should i do in my life. prayed and opened the book of mormon and read where she opened. she opened to alma 42 and read 4-13. and she told us. well this is my awenser. i have to get baptized. thats what god wants for me and how i can get back to haeaven. it was a great experience that she could have with thte book of mormon. and she is growing with it and strengthening he own testimony. she still suffers from dipression. but  the gospel is helping her a ton pull her self out of it. 

this last week week on monday night at 1050 right before we went to bed at 11 president called me and he told me that we are going to switch things up midchange and that you are going to be a district leader and that you will start tomorrow in district meeting. so now i am district leader. that was a fun supprise. but i have like how i have been able to grow and see the mission in a different way now. now it is more focused on helping others as well as yourself. 

yesterday i was able to give a talk on the gathering of isreal and the plan of salvation. and how they are conected. i love how the book of mormon is the hiss. or the wistle to call everyone to come to christ. and it is the only way that it can be acomplished. as we come closer with its teachings we will be able to grow and strengthen our own testimonies and be able to help others as well. in 1 nefi 4 33-36 read it and look for what is happening. zorom is making a promise to join the house of lehi. and he was animated because he could be free. and the house of lehi wanted him to come unto the house. zorom went to the wilderness with them or he kept the commandment. now lets apply this to us. what is this promise or covenet that we meake. BAPTISM. and it all starts there. and we want everyone in the house of isreal. and then in 3 nefi 10 verses 4-8. i love 8 how is says we will cry if our family and friends arent there with us. now lets aply it. if we dont do anything they wont be there. if we dont.. no one will. now lets think. if your loved one or friend is not in the church today and christ comes tomorrow. they wont be here with us. and you will cry because you could of done something... but you didnt. and then i finished it with the song isreal jesus os llama. and how this aplys to us. God has spoken.. he has restored the gospel... he has restored the priesthood.... now people why do you wait. what are you doing, why are you demorando. invite your friends get them here so they can be saved as well. i personally know i will be crying if there is someone missing from my family. or from my ward.

this  next week i will be ion divisons for 2 days and so my comp will start to work in the area and he will grow by having to lead the other missionary.

facundo got the aaronic priesthood.

March 9, 2015

this week we had a baptism of facundo. he is an awesome kid. his mom and all his cousins were able to go. and they all felt the spirit very strong. none of them are members. 

his mom was able to really feel the spirit and know that what his son was doing was the right thing. and she has seen a difference in her home and in his life like a night and day. she is excepted to go to church and is going every week now. and she will hopefully get baptized before conference. but if the lord really wants here to be able to watch conference and gain a testimony that we have a profet on the earth that will be ok as well.

this week i have been studing in mosiah. it has a lot of good principles in it. in chapter 5 i liked how it teaches is to take the name of christ upon us. and in 9-10 it teaches us to not hold grudges that will offend us. if we do we die spiritually like the lamenites did.

we are working hard the both of us. this is helping the area alot. the area is going well we have a lot of the members that were just ¨active¨ now they are progressing active members. for example. they didnt have a current recomend. they need to advance in the priesthood. aaronic to melkezidic. or that just havent gone to the temple in the last 6 months. our bishop has asked us to work with them. people that go everyweek. but they dont do everything that they need to.

we have also been able to work alot with members. that has helped alot with the people growing. with me and my comp we have lead the zone in numbers for the last 4 weeks. we are doing awesome. 

the zone leaders got a call last week and they told us president called them and he has to close 6 more areas in the mission for lack of missionaries. salt lake is shrinking the missions down to 200 we had 250. so that meens that he had to close 25 areas. he already closed 2 here in rivera. he has to close 2 to 3 in every zone. we are the only remaining ward in the zone with 2 sets of missionaries. so logically they would close our area or the sisters in our ward. however our two areas are the best numbers in the entire zone. we have been doing awesome the both of us. in total this year there have been 6 baptisms weather from the ward or missionaries in the our ward. so pte said nope i dont think that would be smart to take them out of there. 

we are working hard and seeing alot of blessings. the lord is helping us out when we work hard

this week we had a little bit different week because of changes. monday we cleaned the house and then tuseday was p day. and then weseday we were helping with changes because we live 3 streets from the termanal. so we had a night were i went to sleep with just 2 extra people in my house and then i woke up with 10 extra in my house in the morning. and alot of them were gringo. so we made a bunch of pancakes.  as the week went onon thurseday there was a huge storm on thurseday. not as big as the one 2 months ago. but it was big enogh where they told us to get in a house. and then the same thing happened the next day. so we had a lot of storms this last week.

as wellas we have facundo. this kid is so awesome. he is 14 and turns 15 in a month. he is already in 1 nephi 15 and we have been teaching him for a little over a month. he has goneto every mutual that the ward has had and  the church. he also signed up for seminary. he is basically a member without being a member. but he is getting baptized this week. and what is awesome with him we found his cousin this last week and his family. so he is just the tip of the iceburg for baptisms in his family. i see that there is 5 more waiting to be baptized in that house.

this week we had 95 in the church which is 20 higher then our normal which is really good for our ward. we have worked alot and it is showing. our ward is 15 streets for 10 streets. and then half of it is all shops so we dont have all that many people. but we are working really hard with what we have. and if you work really hard you can get success with all the work. and if you focus you can have success.

this last week in studies i had studied alot more in the gathering of the house of isreal and something i really liked is we can only be in the house of isreal if we make covenents. and the first one we make is baptism. and the last is sealling with the sacrament mixed in there. but with the people that have not entered into the house how can they be save. well baptism of the dead. were do they get baptized. in the temple. what is holding up the 12 oxen. and they are signifing the 12 tribes. so when some one is baptized and litterly go under the water they will litteraly enter into the house of isreal. and they will gather in the house. it is something that i liked. 

as i am studing the scriptures i am able to find this gathering of isreal. and the other day in the night staffieri gave me a call. he is doing awesome and i  miss him but we were able to talk about what we were studding and we were in the same chapter in the book of mormon. mosiah 5 and something we talked about was verse 7 and 8. read it. we dont have the name of christ untill we take it upon us and we are covenent people. and not even then. we have to choose to axcept the name of christ on us.

today we made cinnomon rolls. and por fin. they looked like the ones that mom makes. they rose up with the volcano in the middle.
