May 25, 2015

so yesterday we had a meeting with the ward mission learder in the church at 730. we get there at 715 and there was someone knocking on the door. and we came up and he asked what was the street name. and he told us there was a guy having a seizure in front of the church. so we told him the name and then hit the door bell (because there was an activity happening in the church, new beginings i think) and then the bishops wife came down. we told her and then the bishop came down as well. and we were able to go out and help the guy. the other people that were helping him were just random people on the street as well. but we were able to get him blankets from the church and then hold him down so he didnt bang his head on the concrete. the ambulance system does not work all that well here. they called 3 times and no one came. so they called the police. and they showed up. we told them the situation. and they said well, we can take him to the hositle. so we picked him up and tossed him in the back of the car. as we left we picked up the extra blankets and things and found a coke bottle. andrew and adam you guys would know what the coke bottle would be filled with(from experiences from your mission). but it was good that we were able shouw up early to help him out even if it was just holding him down and getting him blankets. because we got there like 30 seconds after it all started. i have come to appriciate when people are early. and the guayan way is to be late. like later then mormon standard time.

this last change we have been working with a lady named mirium(75). and she is crazy. but we have now gotten to the point were we can have a spiritual lession with her. she has made alot of progress. she hasnt missed a single week. and the bishop is now thinking about giving her a limited use temple recomond. so she is progressing a ton. now to work with her daughter(38). she is still crazy. to the point we asked her to read a scripture and then she started laughing really really hard and it wasnt over anything. we had a little laugh afterwards and said she is like the joker. but we are going to have patcience with here  and help her along the way to. she has lots to do. on is to start controling her body wieght. she is up around 120 kilos. but the spirit is starting to work on her. i would consider it a miricle on what is happening with mirium and now we will just wait for her daughter

i was studying in helaman 11 and i was thinking to myself, why would the lord do that. why would he poke the bear and make them fight. he knew that that would be the outcome if he gave nephi that power and responsibility.
but then i thought for the reason. the lord wants to bless us. he wants to so bad that he will make wars and famines just to humble his people so they will open there eyes and let God bless them. for example with the alagory of the olive tree he cut the dead branches off. and burned them. so God will take action to agrivate his children that need to be humbled. and then once they have gotten frustrated enough, they open there eyes.

God could of waited 15 years for them to follow there path and end up fighting in the end. but God wants things done now. and what he wants he gets. and in a matter of 5 years the entire city turned there hearts to God and then were able to receive blessings.

as a zone we have been working to get everyone more focused on there work. we have been focusing on looking at there success with graghs. so everone will start to make graphs of there areas and there numbers to see what they need to focus in on. this will help them be more self suficcient. and be able to work hard in all the things that they need to.

i have been working hard with p90x. yoga is a real but kicker. i finished the video and it ends with oommms. like the budah meditation thing. and i was doing them and my comp walked in. that was kinda funny because he started cracking up.

i dont think i mentioned, maybe i did but my comp is cousins with me. his 5th great grandpa is zera pulsipher

well i love you all keep working hard

May 19, 2015

this week was the week of changes. for me there was no change. we are staying together. and also my district is staying the exact same. so thiswill be good for getting the ball rolling. the change hasnt even started but we have all the divisions already planned out and everything.

today i was able to go to the temple, it has been a while since i have gone. it has been since december. we had to wake up at 530 to go, but its worth it. we are working with the ward to prepare them for there ward conference. they are focussing in on the theme of family history. also i was assigned to be the young mens president. so this week with the youth for mutual we are going to the stake center and we are going to the family history center and we are getting them all rolling with family search.

this last week as well we had  baptism in the ward. she had been an investigator for 8 months and was just waiting on getting married to get baptized.  but she got baptized.

i have been looking for families to teach and i have been praying for them to. it is something that i am searching for in this area. this ward needs a few more young families in it.

i have practiced making peanut butter and i am getting pretty good at it. its not skippy pero es lo que hay.

with changes we have to clean the house and do a deap clean on it. our sink has been stinking. so i took it apart, the plumbiing. and cleaned it all out. it waspretty bad. like watercould hardly get through. so now the house is cleaned up and it is alot nicer.

happy birthday catherine. thats crazy thats she is already 1 year old.

keep up the work and working hard.

i love you all

May 4, 2015

this week we had may first and on may first the world shuts down. litterally. there was no busses. all the stores shut down and all the members went of a stake ativity. and everyone else was just at home making asados or at friends houses partying
but luckly we had charlas planned that day and they didnt fall through on us so we were good.
this week i went on 2 divisions. one with thezone leaders and the other with a elder in my district. the zone leaders house is ontop of the zero. it is right next to the fortaleza. if you look it up youll know what i am talking about. it is one of the biggest and only hills that exsist in uruguay. but for the morning we ran up the hill and the night before we stuffed ourselves with aroz con leche. and it was super windy. so we sprinted up all the way to the top of the him and then on the way back down i had to make a stop and had a little breakfast of arroz con leche from the night before. it didnt taste the same the second time. and then we made it all the way back to the house. but the veiw from the top of the hill is awesome. you can see all of montevideo.

so somthing very interesting that happened this week is we taught a guy that is a navy seal but for the uruguay army. and it was fun being able to teach him. he is a member of the church. he was baptized 8 months ago but he got shipped of the night he was baptized on a special mission and was gone for three months. and then had more mini missions that he had. but now has a month off and is going to progress well. we were teaching him the doctrine of christ and we were talking about a part were it says. if you dont repent and be baptized you will be condenado. and that means damned in english. but it doesnt work well in spanish. but what it is trying to say is that you will not get the blessings from God. you can not progress more. so we were talking about that and i asked him if he knows what it feels like when his body can litterally go no more. he straight face told me ¨No¨ no i dont. and i was like oh man he really doenst. i was thinking about that and then applying it to us in the goepel. we can always keep going it is our mind and satan that tell us we cant. he reminded me of what i learned up at college. that you can always go more. you always have more in your tank and can always fight more. when your body says it is done. you have 2 thirds of the tank to go.

this week i saw an examplñe of that. we went out to work with someone that is paralized on one side. he asked to go out. we walked for an hour and a half with him. (normaly a 10 minute walk) he has a crutch and he (tee tok´s) his way around. thats what he calls it. he can only speak 5 to six different words. but the crazy thing is is he is converted. he is fighting to EVERYTHING he can to help the lord and to serve him. he can always do more. he might not of been able to testify in the lesson or to talk at all. but he was  a great testimony to me that no mater who we are or how we are there is work to be done and we have to be willing to do it. and we have to give everything thing that we can. and if we can willingly do that we will be blessed.

this sunday  there is voting and the whole world will shut down. and it will be crazy. not even our church building will be open for the sacrament. there will be voting that will take place within. so we have to go to the church in delta. the one that i got lost finding and then finally found it. so we will go out there and then come back home and plan. and then skype the family.

so i hope everything is going great and hope everyone is able to read the book of mormon everyday.
